Vitamin B12

B12 injections are commonly used for deficiency, including when absorption is a concern. A clinician can assess whether testing, oral supplementation, or an injection makes sense.

Ingredients

Vitamin B12. We review the exact product, dose, and route with you before treatment.

How it works in your body

B12 helps your body make DNA, form red blood cells, and maintain the protective covering around nerves. Replacing a shortfall supports these essential processes.

What it may help with

Treating B12 deficiency can help related tiredness, weakness, and anemia. Tingling, numbness, or balance changes can also occur with deficiency and need medical assessment; longstanding nerve injury may not fully reverse.

What to understand before choosing

An injection bypasses the digestive tract, which can be useful when absorption is impaired. High-dose oral B12 is also effective in some situations. Symptoms, blood tests, and the cause of deficiency guide the choice and follow-up.

Safety and follow-up

Injections can cause soreness, bruising, bleeding, infection, or allergic reactions. Tell the clinician about pregnancy, breastfeeding, kidney or liver conditions, and previous injection reactions. Seek urgent help for difficulty breathing or swelling of the face or throat after an injection.

Planning your visit & more details

Is this right for you?

People eating little or no animal food, people with pernicious anemia or certain digestive conditions, and those who have had stomach or intestinal surgery may need particular attention. Metformin and acid-reducing medicines can also affect B12 status.

Your consultation

Bring your medicine and supplement list, allergies, relevant history, and recent test results. We discuss whether testing, food changes, oral supplementation, or an injection fits your needs, and how to assess your response.

Your plan

We explain preparation, pricing, and follow-up before treatment. The schedule depends on your needs and response.

A little clarity

Your questions, answered.

Will I feel an immediate energy boost?

Not necessarily. If deficiency is contributing to fatigue, replacement may help as the deficiency is corrected. Extra B12 has not been shown to improve energy or endurance when levels are already adequate.

Is an injection better than an oral supplement?

It depends on the ingredient, the reason for treatment, and your ability to absorb it. Bypassing digestion can be useful for some deficiencies, but does not automatically mean better results for general wellness.

How many appointments will I need?

We agree on a schedule and review point based on your needs and response.
