EMTT therapy
Suncoast offers Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy for musculoskeletal care. Targeted magnetic pulses, a personal assessment, and a practical movement goal shape your treatment plan.

Where does movement feel limited?
Explore common topics for an EMTT consultation. These examples do not diagnose pain or confirm suitability.
Back & everyday movement
Talk about when discomfort appears, what makes it better or worse, and how it affects sitting, walking, and sleep. An assessment helps identify appropriate next steps.
What brings you here?
Choose an example to prepare for your visit—not to determine which treatment you need.
Choose a repeatable activity
Explain where discomfort occurs and what has already been diagnosed. A short walk or the same flight of stairs can be a practical reference, if your clinician says that activity is appropriate.
“What would count as a meaningful improvement in my daily movement?”
Review load as well as symptoms
Describe training, work tasks, and when symptoms occur. A device session does not replace assessment or a plan for managing the activity that aggravates the problem.
“How would EMTT fit with rehabilitation and changes to my activity?”
Keep the technologies separate
EMTT uses magnetic pulses, shockwave uses acoustic energy, and EMSCULPT causes repeated contractions for body contouring. Evidence for one does not establish the effects of another.
“Why is this device being proposed for my particular concern?”
What EMTT is
At Suncoast, Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy delivers pulsed magnetic energy to a selected area as part of musculoskeletal care. EMTT has a different purpose and protocol from EMSCULPT, and it is distinct from acoustic shockwave therapy.
How it is intended to work
A changing magnetic field can induce electrical effects in tissue. Manufacturer explanations discuss effects on cellular signaling and tissue processes. Those proposed mechanisms do not by themselves prove pain relief or tissue repair for every condition.
What it may help with
Manufacturer materials describe use for back discomfort, degenerative joint complaints, and tendon-overuse problems. The useful question is whether the evidence and device instructions fit your diagnosis. Persistent pain needs assessment before a treatment area is selected.
Who needs screening
STORZ MEDICAL advises against EMTT during pregnancy or with implanted electronic systems such as pacemakers. Mention all implants, altered sensation, skin problems, and recent procedures. The treating clinician must check the actual device instructions and your individual history.
Planning your visit & more details
Connect treatment to a daily activity
Tell the clinician if discomfort limits walking, reaching, sleeping, or sitting. A practical goal might be more comfortable stairs or being able to reach a shelf. Tracking the same activity over time can make a response easier to judge than a vague sense of improvement.
What a session involves
Your clinician positions the applicator over the selected area and adjusts the treatment settings. Before starting, we explain positioning, clothing, and any items you need to remove. Your plan also covers how EMTT fits with other care you receive.
What you may feel
Manufacturer guidance describes possible tingling or gentle throbbing. Tell the practitioner if you feel uncomfortable so settings or positioning can be reviewed. Temporary redness or discomfort can occur. A stronger sensation is not proof of a better outcome.
A plan built around your progress
We discuss the reason for treatment, expected changes, recommended schedule, and pricing before you begin. A review point helps us assess your response. Rehabilitation, activity changes, or other medical care may also be part of your plan.
Your questions, answered.
Is EMTT the same as shockwave?
No. EMTT uses magnetic pulses; shockwave therapy uses acoustic energy. A discussion of one does not mean the clinic offers the other.
Can I stay dressed?
Some EMTT systems allow treatment through clothing. Confirm with the clinic and remove metallic or magnetically sensitive items as directed.
How many appointments will I need?
The care plan depends on the area, assessment, and response. The clinic can explain the proposed schedule and review point before you start.
